Asian Salad with Beef


Prep time: 2 hours (marinating time)
Cooking time: 8-10 minutes

Yields 4 servings



  • Round steak, sirloin or flank steak
  • Snow peas, trimmed and cut into bite size pcs.
  • Carrots, sliced into thin sticks
  • Water chestnuts, sliced
  • Scallions, chopped
  • Slivered almonds, toasted
  • Mandarin oranges
  • Cilantro
  • Romaine or any lettuce, shredded into bite size pcs.


  • 2 1/2 T rice or white vinegar
  • 1 T tamari (gf soy sauce)*
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 t sesame oil
  • 1/2 T grated ginger
  • 1 t garlic (can omit)
  • Tabasco and/or pepper to taste

*Can use regular soy sauce if gluten isn't an issue for you


  1. Mix all vinaigrette ingredients with a whisk
  2. Marinate the meat in 1/2 of the vinaigrette in the fridge for at least two hours, saving the rest of the liquid for the dressing
  3. Mix the greens and salad ingredients and set aside in the fridge
  4. Grill the beef to desired wellness and let it rest before slicing into strips
  5. When ready to serve, add beef to the greens and top with dressing

NOTES — Can use any Asian vegetables you prefer. This is just a guide.
