Homemade Spaghetti Sauce (DF, GF)

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Prep time: 45 minutes

Serves: 4-6


1 Tbsp. olive oil

1 13 oz can tomato puree or crushed tomatoes

2-3 Tbsps. tomato paste

1 can tomato sauce

1 cup water

1 Tbsp each dried oregano, parsley, basil (if using fresh herbs, a bit more than 1 Tbsp.)

1/2 tsp. garlic salt or a bit of fresh garlic, chopped

2 bay leaves

black pepper to taste

May add sun dried tomatoes, red pepper flakes or cooked ground turkey or beef


In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients and stir well

Cook until begins to bubble, then turn heat to low, cover and simmer for at least 30 minutes.

Serve over cooked pasta or spiralized zucchini noodles

Taste best the second day after all flavors blend

Freezes well
