Seared Tuna with Mango Salsa

Prep time: 20 minutes

Serves: 2 


2 tuna steaks,fresh or frozen(can substitute any mild white fish like cod, flounder or swai)

1 mango, peels and diced

1 tomato, diced

2-3 scallions, chopped

3 Tbsps. fresh cilantro, chopped

1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

2 Tbsps. fresh jalapeno, seeded and chopped (can omit)

1 tsp. olive oil


1. Wash, peel and chop fruit, tomato, cilantro, etc. and combine in a bowl

2. Brush the fish lightly with oil

3. Grill outdoors or saute’ on the stove for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness. If you are using tuna, it’s best to leave a pink center. It becomes tough when over cooked

4. Top fish with salsa and enjoy!
